The Power of Pink program began more than a decade ago in an effort to provide awareness, education, and diagnostic services to indigent patients who lack the resources for breast cancer prevention and early detection. Over the years and through the support of the Middle Tennessee community at events like Wine Around the Square (WATS) POP Golf and Tennis Tournaments, financial support for Power of Pink has steadily increased, enabling the efforts to reach thousands of local women and provide potentially life-saving care.
Funding from the POP supports crucial initiatives such as funding mammograms, screenings, diagnostics, ultrasounds, and MRI scans as well as offering patient education, providing transportation and lodging for patients during treatment, and supplying life-saving equipment for those facing the most challenging circumstances.

One of the Foundation’s largest and most supportive donor communities are our own medical staff and associates. All employees are invited to contribute to the mission-inspired work of the Foundation through either an annual gift or by enrolling to make a payroll deduction. As a new associate or as an existing employee we invite you to learn more about how your donation can help a particular department or charitable endeavor of the Ascension Saint Thomas Rutherford ministry.
Annual gifts of all sizes are the sustaining dollars of our Foundation. These gifts represent financial support from grateful patients, friends, and community supporters who value our mission. These annual donations fall into two distinct categories: 1) unrestricted giving, which supports the most immediate hospital and patient priorities and 2) restricted giving, which can be directed to a special interest of the donor.
For those donors who choose to give at the $1,000 level or greater, we have a variety of annual recognition societies in which we honor your generous support. Plus, Rutherford Society members will be invited to an exclusive black-tie event with Tim Tebow speaking in March as a thank you.
Tribute gifts are an opportunity to support our mission while also paying tribute to someone you care about or wish to recognize. Perfect for honoring an exploratory caregiver or any loved one, these gifts express gratitude to the recipient. Of course, these gifts are also lovely tributes to make in the memory of someone who has passed away as a special remembrance.
