“Every day, a radiologist may interpret over 100 diagnostic and screening studies, each of which has the potential to make a profound difference in a patient’s life.” — Dr. Max Moss
The Power of Pink program began more than a decade ago in an effort to provide awareness, education, and diagnostic services to indigent patients who lack the resources for breast cancer prevention and early detection. Over the years and through the support of the Middle Tennessee community at events like Wine Around the Square (WATS) POP Golf and Tennis Tournaments, financial support for Power of Pink has steadily increased, enabling the efforts to reach thousands of local women and provide potentially life-saving care.
Funding from the POP supports crucial initiatives such as funding mammograms, screenings, diagnostics, ultrasounds, and MRI scans as well as offering patient education, providing transportation and lodging for patients during treatment, and supplying life-saving equipment for those facing the most challenging circumstances.
“We are able to get out in the community. Access is really the key to mammography. We have a lot of ladies who would not have done it if we hadn’t been there.” – Mammography Technologist.
