2025 Dr. Jim Boerner Nursery-Pediatric Fund 5th Annual Golf Tournament Sponsorship Packet

The inaugural Dr. Jim Boerner Nursery-Pediatric Golf Tournament took place in May of 2021. The fund was created in 1984 and renamed in 2021 to honor the late Dr. Jim Boerner, an OBGYN who touched the lives of many. Dr. Boerner delivered the last baby born at the old Rutherford Hospital and the first newborn at the Ascension Saint Thomas Rutherford Hospital.

Impact that the event has made

The Ascension Saint Thomas Rutherford Foundation Dr. Jim Boerner Nursery-Pediatric Golf Tournament provides funding for mission-critical initiatives that improve access to care and improve community health for our Nursery, Lee and Susan Moss Family NICU, and Pediatric support. All the 2025 tournament proceeds will be used to support the Dr. Jim Boerner Nursery-Pediatric Fund. The needs of our community are growing as the county population grows. Funds from the tournament will make a difference in the lives of families across Middle Tennessee and address these increasing needs.

Here are just a few of the many ways philanthropic support makes a difference for our patients and caregivers:

  • AngelEye Cameras: Available for babies in the Lee and Susan Moss Family Newborn Intensive Care Unit (NICU), these cameras allow parents, grandparents, and other family members to securely view a live picture of their baby when they can’t be at their side.
  • Enhanced Care and Comfort: Donations help provide cutting-edge medical equipment, comfortable patient environments, and support services that promote the well-being of our patients and families.
  • Education and Training: Your contributions support education and training for our maternal services associates, ensuring that our team has the skills and knowledge necessary to provide the highest level of care to mothers, infants and children.
