A progressive wine and spirits tasting event set around the historic Downtown Square in Murfreesboro, TN. The event kicks off with a VIP party. Stones River Total Beverages, provides a wide variety of wines and spirits for sampling throughout the evening. Included in the ticket, guests will receive a full dinner provided by The Alley On Main. 100% of the proceeds go to the ASTR Foundation’s Power of Pink Fund, Rutherford County’s premier fight against breast cancer. The Power of Pink Fund provides mammography for underinsured and uninsured women in Rutherford County, including screenings, diagnostics, ultrasounds and MRIs. The POP Fund also supports two Mobile Mammography Coaches that serve 26 counties in Middle Tennessee as well as the Cancer Wellness Program at Ascension Saint Thomas Rutherford.

History of Event
Her best friend was diagnosed with breast cancer 12 years ago. The next year, Patty Marschel said “yes” to raising funds so that no Rutherford County woman is ever without a screening mammogram. The Power of Pink program was founded more than a decade ago by Patty Marschel and over the years has been assisted by Rita Ash, Leslie Akins, Caroline Lampley, Dave Davis, Anne Davis and Max Moss among many volunteers. Over the past twelve years, the POP has raised more than $2,000,000 for local friends and neighbors who need potentially life-saving procedures. Now in its 11th year, Wine Around the Square continues to provide the greatest source of funding for the ASTR Foundation’s Power of Pink Fund.
The Impact
The Power of Pink Fund has provided over 25,000 potentially life saving mammograms to women in Rutherford County. 548 procedures were provided in 2021 over 26 Middle Tennessee counties. Over 90 women have been diagnosed with breast cancer after screenings provided by the Power of Pink. In 2021, POP provided funds to purchase a second Mobile Mammography Coach and retrofit the first Coach to have 3D imaging.
